Wood Turning Lathe Information
Rod makes good use of his lathe. If you will be turning a lot of wood, you may consider obtaining a quality Wood Lathe which requires:
- Heavy-duty cast iron construction throughout
- Minimum distance between centers: 40"
- Minimum motor size: 3/4 H.P., single phase, 110V/220V
- 7 speeds: 500-3070 RPM
- A headstock that swivels 360 degrees with positive stops at 45 and 90 degrees
- A spindle that features positive indexing in 10 degree increments for fast, efficient fluting and veining
- Headstock and tailstock should be cast iron and have positive cam action locking devices
- Wheels to move in and out of position
